Originally from Africa, this melon was truly developed in France during the Renaissance. Today, we mainly produces the Charentais type melon, which is characterized by its orange flesh that is sweet and juicy.  As an entree or dessert, this fruity vegetable has high concentrations of water and antioxidants. Contrary to its name, the Charentais melon does not only not grow in Charente.
